Coding SQL Stored Procedures to transform data from various Legacy systems to build a data store for the Retail section of Nationwide. This involved interpreting JAD sessions into code initially to process the mortgage systems then expanding to cover Flex, Loans and Savings data. The system has been developed to be deployed on Yukon (SQL 2005) although initially development was undertaken on SQL 2000. Using Yukon extensively since August 2005 albeit on beta releases awaiting RTM version. Database size is estimated at being in the region of 40TB when fully populated. Duties included performance tuning of the initial release as well as pure development. Data sets in the region of 16Gb meant that all SP’s had to be thoroughly optimized including some use of CTE’s in order to speed up some of the transformations.
