• Single-handedly designing and creating a code-generation product called Foundation that automatically creates business objects for database tables and facilitates the writing of applications and systems against databases. It’s similar to Microsoft’s Linq-To-Sql technology, but whereas that does little more than assist with the loading and saving of data, Foundation offers far more functionality to assist developers. The system is being used commercially with great success.
• Designing and creating a database and system used for capturing information from websites and correlating the information with that captured from other sites. The system currently captures information from over half a million web pages daily, and will scale to cope with many times more as the client’s project expands. The system includes Sql Server 2005 databases, which I designed and created, an intelligent automatic correlation process which I built using TransactSql and a sophisticated manual correlation application which I wrote using C# and Foundation.
• Designing and creating a membership management database and maintenance application for Youth Clubs Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

• Designing and writing a code-generation system called Catalyst that was the predecessor of Foundation. Catalyst was my idea and the vast majority was my design and implementation, however due to the deadlines the functionality had to be limited. It’s also approximately six to seven times slower than Foundation. The system has been live for well over a year as the basis of MoneyPartners’ award-winning MoneyPort online mortgage quotation system, which has quotes worth around £100 million passing through it each month. Catalyst was also used as the basis for all of their internal systems and applications
• Working as Lead Developer on the aforementioned MoneyPort online mortgage quotation system, designing and creating the database, and providing support and training to both internal and client developers. Also project-managing several parts of the project, and line-managing developers.
• Project managing a large new project for Citybond, where they used Catalyst as the basis for their new online travel insurance system that allows both consumers and agents to get quotes and purchase the insurance. This included training and mentoring the client’s developers.
