· Responsible for the redesign and development of the 'MIS' data warehouse.
· Redesigned the SQL Server data warehouse, creating a snow flake schema and partitioned fact tables.
· Development of a new ETL solution using a number of multi-threaded C#.NET applications.
· Achieved a major reduction on the amount of time taken to populate the data warehouse on both a daily and 15-minute schedule.
· Redesigned the OLAP cubes to ensure that only the latest data requires processing and thereby drastically reducing the amount of time take to provide updated cubes. Improvements experienced including reducing the time to provide an updated cube reduced from 4 hours to less than 15 minutes.
· Supervised 3 other developers working on this project.

Responsible for the management of 3 development teams, including managing the associated testing teams. Much of my time was spent developing project plans and project managing the teams.

A major focus of the company during this time was scalability, a major requirement was to improve the scalability of the system by almost tenfold. A major accomplishment was the redevelopment of the web based cash control application. We were able improve the number of concurrent users from around 20 to almost 600.

Other notable achievements were the development of a new application, a web based system for payroll and labour management, improvement made to sales data flows to allow a change from a daily import of data to one that occurred every 15 minutes.

Responsible for development and management of the 'MIS’ product, including the management of the development and testing teams. During this time the team developed a number of new data marts and associated OLAP cubes, covering subjects such as stock levels and 'cash on site'. This role required me to constantly liaise with account managers and the development director with respect to project plans for development and testing. I was also responsible to the production of software requirements documents for projects, occasionally requiring meeting with clients. During this time I maintained a significant development role and mentored new team members.
