Working as part of the Constraint Relief team to enhance all current Avis systems to extend the length of key company data fields and the processing of them as well as assisting in UAT, running pilot testing with a number of European country IT departments and HQ external suppliers and the subsequent implementation and support of those systems.

Working as part of a large team (New Core Systems) on the analysis, specification and testing of programs for/from off-shore development teams. The aim of the project was to convert all programs from using IMS databases to DB2. I also had to develop and test a complex Dynamic SQL routine for use by a number of main programs.

Worked on the development, implementation and maintenance of the following:-
Reservation Prepayment Allocation, TESCO Redemption, OLAS Currency Change, Frequent Traveller Program (British Airways), conversion from XCOM to FTP for all production jobs relating to France. The work involved working either on my own or as part of a small team.

Working as part of a small team on the analysis, development, testing, implementation and support of a number of Finance systems to incorporate ROI stores into the Group’s systems’ portfolio. In conjunction with each of these stages was the production and sign-off of documentation to client standards for handover on completion of each phase of the project.

Worked on both the old and new CSA systems in a number of different capacities. Latterly as the Team Leader of a group of Business Analysts (EDS and CSA) responsible for the definition of requirements and processing of these through the various stages of the system life cycle to the point of producing technical program specifications. This entailed active participation in various business workshops with representatives from a broad range of groups within the client’s organisation, the documentation thereof and subsequent acquirement of necessary approvals from each group.

Worked in conjunction with the software sales force as well as the development, training and support groups to provide software support for a range of Application Development software products. Highly regarded for technical expertise and ability to communicate with those contacts inside the company, both nationally and internationally, as well as clients/potential clients from a number of different sectors. Although the post was primarily pre-sales support, through the means of presentations, demonstrations, seminars and product trial management, there were a number of other roles. Namely product development, hotline support and providing product training to internal and external companies personnel.

Worked progressively through the company via Computer Operations, Programming Development and database support until finally leading the Database and Data Administration teams. Ultimately responsible for all aspects of data definition and control for a system to be implemented multi-nationally. Personally responsible for, and highly commended for, the technical implementation of a data infrastructure within operating companies in France, Germany, Mexico and Venezuela. The role required communication with all levels of staff both within the UK and participating operating companies.
